The purpose of this FAQ Level 3 Award for First Responders on Scene: Emergency First Responder (RQF) qualification is to provide first responders with the skills, knowledge and understanding to provide the appropriate care to a casualty prior to the arrival of an ambulance. This qualification will cover the knowledge and skills relating to scene safety and patient assessment and life-threatening emergencies, illnesses, medical conditions and injuries. This course is also aimed at individuals who work or intend to provide immediate emergency care. This qualification is Category C on the FPHC PHEM Skills Framework: Nationally certificated pre-hospital responder (use of airway adjuncts & oxygen) e.g. Community First Responder. SIA accepted for security operatives. Ideal for Medics, Community First Responders, High-risk workplaces, first aid instructors, Fire services, Ambulance services, Close protection, Firearms officers, Offshore workers, Wind turbines, Coastguard, anyone needing a more advanced out of hospital care course with no prerequisites. This course is fully interactive and on the last day includes scenario training, this will give you the confidence and knowledge to put into place the correct actions before the emergency services arrive. We use actors from the Casualty Union (CU) recreating real-life situations as closely as possible. The CU use realistic full make-up and you will use all the equipment you have learnt to use over the past few days. This hands-on approach ensures you’re well-prepared for the challenges you may face in an emergency situation.
