Here is some Pre-course information to make your course as enjoyable and productive as possible. Please read carefully and contact me if you have any questions.
Please bring a form of ID with you – a driving license is great. Your course is running from 09.00 – 16.00hrs You will need to attend and participate in all sessions to receive the full qualification.

If you have any specific learning needs, for example if English is not your common language or you have physical needs that may make performing first aid difficult, please let me know as soon as possible and before the day of the course. Please be advised that to fulfil the role of ‘first aider at work’ you must be physically able to perform the skills required.

Due to the nature of a first aid course, we will all be participating in practical sessions so please wear trousers so as not to cause any embarrassment to you or your colleagues when you are in the recovery position on the floor and performing other practical skills. We will be covering injuries and conditions that some people may find uncomfortable because of their own experiences, again if there is anything you would like me to be aware of, please email me and say whether this is a situation that your colleagues are aware of or whether it is a confidential matter.

Some people may share during the course things that would not normally be discussed in a workplace environment, and it is important that we are all mindful of this and keep such things confidential within the group unless given permission by the individual concerned to take the information outside of the course setting.

There are two Types of assessments during the Emergency First Aid at Work course. They consist of a practical assessment and a multiple-choice question paper. You must perform the required tasks to the satisfaction of your instructor, pass the question paper and attend all sessions to receive the qualification.

During your training you will be given a First Aid manual, following successful completion of the course and full payment being made your certificate will be forwarded within 28 days.

Refreshments will be provided free of charge, you will need to bring a packed lunch or use the local shops close to the venue.

Driving to your Peak Skills course

Directions from central Tunbridge Wells:
● Follow the A26 through Tunbridge Wells heading towards Southborough and Tonbridge.
● Eventually you will pass the Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre on your left and the Cross Keys pub on your right.
● At the next traffic lights turn left, just after the Majestic Wine store, onto Speldhurst Road.
● After approximately 300 yards you will see New Life Church Centre on your right.
Directions from Tonbridge and Southborough:
● Follow the A26 through Southborough heading towards Tunbridge Wells.
● Pass Tesco Express on your left.
● Opposite the fire station on your left, turn right at the traffic lights onto Speldhurst Road just before the Majestic Wine store.
● After approximately 300 yards you will see New Life Church Centre on your right.

The closest train station is High Brooms, which is approximately a half hour walk. There are not usually taxis waiting at High Brooms station. Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge stations are slightly further away but will be easier to pick up a taxi or bus.

On arrival at New Life Centre, you can park in any of the car parks in front or either side of the building. Once parked, face the front of the building and walk around the left-hand side of the building, following the signs. Enter using the side door and go up the stairs in front of you. Once at the top of the stairs turn left to find your training room.
